Some old photo,s that might be of interest.I took them around 1970,the GT40 was John Wolfes. At the time i took these i was competeing in rallycross and circuit raceing. It was,nt untill i got into yanks that i started drag racing a few years after these were taken.I had a 66 shelby 350gt mustang that i bought forstuart wrote:That GT40 is gorgeous and demonstrates just how low they are.
Lovely shots Martin. Were you taking part in anything back then? Did they do RWYB at that time?
I found yanks alot cheaper to mod than my present skyline plus im lost when it comes to ECU,s etc, give me a big block V8 with a large 1150 dominator carb,an lots of gas any day.I know yanks don,t handle quite so good on corners maybe but in a straight line they can be awesome. When i sell the GTR i will buy a late 60,s muscle car.At the time i bought the shelby it was when petrol was going to be rationed in 73 so yanks were being sold so cheap nobody wanted them.stuart wrote:My God, I bet you did!!
Bloody hell, that would be worth a mint.
I have often thought about a big American car but I have never had the money at the time.........then I get the money and spunk it on circuit bits instead!
