Most of us will testify to that too
I've done it, its up for sale for real!
Aye, indeed, should be fine once you get a serious buyer.blacky wrote: I hear what your saying but I have plenty of evident to support its only ever ran a VF28 turbo and also with the engine being brand new (done only 160 miles now) then that shouldn't matter anyway surely :?:
Will be interesting to see what the market is like now, compared to 9 months ago when I bought my version 6 (similar spec minus the forged internals, FMIC and brakes).

Kim, I'm sure your car will sell a load easier than my pimped up Impreza.
I am seriously thinking it maybe worth a weekend taking it back to a more standard car, ie remove the cage, new carpets, take off the fancy brakes, wheels, ECU and even maybe sawp the fancy new engine for a standard one and send it down the road a load cheaper....
Just pains me to think about doing that! Seems a shame as its all sorted a new and only done 160 miles!!!

Aye, I did that with my first Impreza and it can be quite a bit of work.blacky wrote: I am seriously thinking it maybe worth a weekend taking it back to a more standard car, ie remove the cage, new carpets, take off the fancy brakes, wheels, ECU and even maybe sawp the fancy new engine for a standard one and send it down the road a load cheaper....

Problem with the mods is finding just the right buyer. My 50k-mile STi6 RA Lim with pipe/filter/remap cost 7k last summer, but I'm well on my way to spending 3k+ getting it to where I want to be - coilovers, arbs, rear control arms, droplinks ... oil gauges, boost, egt, act, permanent wideband, datalogit ... FMIC, porting/wrapping, replacement turbo (last weekend) ... remap, baffled sump, rcm catch-can, avcr, modified oilpump and cambelt (coming soon).
That little list still leaves brakes and Stoptech is one of the kits I'd be interested in :-D

Personally I think its priced spot on. The problem is there are idiots out there comparing well put together modded late classics and comparing them to newage sti's in average to shoddy condition and then saying its too much money for a classic. Its just about waiting till the right buyer comes along. Its the reason we are keeping ours
.
good luck logan mint motor mate.

Thanks mate, I think as well its not a million miles out, I've had some genuine interest this weekend so hopefully it'll go soon to a good new home!garetgax wrote:Personally I think its priced spot on.
