Is it March 09 yet......
Logan, keep the Scooby as it is already a comp car with cage and try your hand at Jap challenge thingy. You must race...
Beware though, sprints will seem so tame after just one meeting. It's like smack, so I'm told, one hit and yer hooked.
Got ACSMC dates through today for next year and I looked at it and thought... this is so not for me. A real feeling of been there, done that and I'm pretty sure I'd feel that way regardless of my results this year. And the thought of another North Weald...
Anyone want an Evo IX? Never raced or rallied?
ARDS? No worries - just don't try to go fast. The numpties that got through when I was doing the Fun Cup for Auto Express beggared belief. Just watch the video then drive like your mum.

I couldn't race the Impreza Kim....its just too mint, and I wouldn't want to take the risk of writing it off, or more to the matter, someone else writing it off for me! If it was a 2-3k worth of machine then fine..
I'm keen to try the Arrive and Drive MX5's or similar....just to try it without any major financial ties.
I take it there are loads of NW's next year again, I did recommend to Chris Deal etc to cut a few out and just have less rounds.....
I did hear the ARD's is basically just about safety on track,so its best to just go steady!

Been thinking of something German beginning with M myself but struggling to get motivated beyond stopping Mr Whingestone collecting pots.
Ian Stevenson (M3 CSL) was close to BW and arrogance leads me to think I could tip the balance. But even the last generation Sixes are proper money and loads have silly slaptronic gearboxes.
At the mo' borrowed Australian muscle looks favourite and a leaf out of TK's 'sideways and smoke is fun' book.

e46 with regular boxes are from 12k
You can always have a go in mine Kim. Would be nice to see it driven properly, just the once

But it would mean, baffled sump, better ECU, maybe turbo, injectors and the fact you can't fit any decent tyre sizes to it etc etc etc.....
Plus, I do like the Evo :!:
True, and once you've got that extra power the box will break, so that's another 2k for a newage 6-speed.
Decent tyre sizes? My new Rays are 17x8 so I'll be putting 225 or 235's on them, that's with coilovers and rolled rear arches.
But, with the extra chassis bracing you've already got from the cage, plus careful attention to the suspension, surely what you've got there in the RA is the equivalent of an RS but lighter...?
Difficult call...

Are we really in for 5 months of 'shall, I shan't I,' should I, shouldn't I, ' 'what if' etc.
If it's a financial decision, flog the RA for what you can get for a track prepped Scoob, keep the Evo as it's a good car with no mods.
If it's a pot chasing decision, flog the RA, keep the Evo as it's a good car with no mods plus there'll be no competition next year if Kim goes 2wd.
If you really want to prove how good you are, flog the standard (sort of) Evo and flex your muscle in the RA, maybe in D8 and give Mr. Blackmore some long awaited competition.
The Evo sale should yield more cash than the RA, although everyone knows the Scooby is in first class nick, no-one looking to buy will believe it, not with a cage and forged engine. One carefull, loving owner, don't make me laugh. You yourself advise first time buyers to go for un-modded with FSSH FFS
If you're serious about arrive & drive racing, flog both and show up in the Xantia.
Now quit talking about it, make a decision and stick by it.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
If you manage to fit 235's I'll be amazed, unless you flair the arches as well.Andy916 wrote:Decent tyre sizes? My new Rays are 17x8 so I'll be putting 225 or 235's on them, that's with coilovers and rolled rear arches.
