Sprinting in 2009
I do love driving the Evo so less events better chosen could be the way to go if I can't sell in the New Year.
I really enjoyed my jaunts to Wiscombe, Pembrey and Castle Combe this year. 'Er in drawers came along and we had a great time exploring a new area combined with some motorsport. Harewood is a great venue (I've done it once in my Caterham days) and I'd love to do Prescott and Gurston (another one-off Caterham visit). After cocking about around cones, hillclimbs are really something else. There's nothing like trees to focus the attention... God, I'd love to see Fearless TK on a hillclimb...
If sale plans do not succeed you might see me at the dreaded NWeald in my bro's Monaro as a GT3 RS beater test run. How hard can it be?
What about some BP away days to Wiscombe, Pembrey, Harewood, Loton, Castle Combe and the like especially when they are two-day events? More expensive I know, but its got to be better than half a dozen NWealds. May be a dozen...

I'll come and watch the Monaro test

Definately up for weekends away doing a bit of motorsport.
top idea

Logan, you must have a very special relationship with your intended. Work away all week and now planning for weekends out too.blacky wrote:MiKa wrote:

Sounds good though, group buy on tents then?

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
I am delighted that the quality of feedback is as high as it is. It's far more satisfying to get straight, non bullshit, considered answers to questions. Thanks :thumb:
I have put a list of questions to HCC via Spencer and he is asking the relevant people. I will keep you informed.
Whatever happens for sprinting next year, I will be in D8, so hopefully Mr Blackmore and Lord Houghton will bear with me as I try to get up to pace.
'Venues further afield' I hear you cry
Funny you should say that. It wasn't that long ago that Gerry and I were discussing a French hillclimb! A tad too far maybe, but in essence, I fully agree that variety is very important as is quality, so less chopped up concrete and cone dodging and more armco and 'real' tarmac please.

The french hiiclimb sounds excellent as everyone said rather do that sort of avent or a veriation instead of north weald, debden, or some other disused concrete mess, do you need nat a licence for harewood, prescot, or the french hillclimb? And yes stuart i will be campaining the impreza next year, sorry gerry
But was undecided what to do after season finished ive booked my ards test in november so i can have some other options. The impreza is just right now so silly to get shot of. Ordered a few new tweeks for next year . the one sprint i am really looking forward to is the two dayer at crystal palace in march .mike

Forgot about Crystal Palace. At least that's something to aim for and get the car ready for March.
Mike, do you realy have to continue tweeking?
With all these new venue options, you do realise that, unless someone's sandbagging, we all go there green so it'll be a level playing field for all

Maybe that's the thing with the venues? If we all have a fresh run at these, it will add to the enjoyment and provide a more interesting experience for all. Either that, or we just all use Mikes car and take it in turns
The French Hill climb is run with the blessing of a local motorsports club. I'll find the guys details and post them up.

I looked at competing abroad after my trip to Jersey where a lot of the locals compete in France.

Also found some in-car at the time but link has gone dead. I was proper impressed with course. Tim Jefferies (Alpine GTA) has done St Goueno and said it was no to be missed.
If a weekend in Pembrey or Wiscombe costs around
