If anyone's heading south down the A12 going to Sizewell, etc (poor you!). Take the B1152 at Blythburgh Small left turn just after you go past the water. Follow it all the way through the villages 'til it comes out near Leiston. Some killer roads down there.
Lots of bumps, blind bends, mud, water and a few short straights. Perfect Jap saloon terrain :-D
Favorite driving roads.

Well,
I am very fortunate that I now live slap bang in the middle of what used to be my favourite set of roads when I used to go out on the bike alot, and back in the day when I was a bit of a loony in a car !!
To my south and souteast is the very short stretch from Sible to Halstead which is just a glorious way to start a journey and if you then went north you could do the main road to Sudbury which is great fun on the sadly very odd occasion its deserted - very fast and dangerous, but apparently you can outrun well ridden GSX-R 600's down it if you have a powerful enough skyline !!
Turning left at Bulmer would see you come back down westward along Stu's morning commute if he's coming to mine that he now loves as mentioned above and back to my house, at which point you could then have a dilemer on your hands. To the north is the old main road to cambridge - once the A604 which got redesignated to some other number in the hope of fooling people into not using it as much - and the section from Sible to Blackmore End is devine on a bike or a car, fast sweepers, a couple of nice left right chicanes, some pretty villages to annoy the locals, and a couple of short straights to fully open the taps. At which point you can then continue by turning right towards Long Melford via Cavendish and Clare and a road that is possibly one of my top 5 anywhere. It is extremely dangerous to take at full speed on a bike as the surface isnt always as good as it can be, theres quite a few hidden joiner roads and a couple of the straights have crossroads on them at inopportune times but never the less this used to be my prefferred blast when out for a trundle !!
Once back at melford you could turn back to Sudbury just up the road, come down the Blumer Tye Kink again and be back at the centre of the motoring universe - Sible hedingham - again and be ready to tackle Stu's absolute favourite road when a passenger in the BM !!! It goes west and then southwest from Sible to Wethersfield and then to Dunmow and its got the lot. Bumps, yomps, proper full bore chicanes, long sweeping parts you can see half a mile ahead of, and cut the slight corners on, some cracking crests into corners to back the car in with, delightful scenery and is often available as other than the rush hour theres not that much traffic using it. Off of this road are some other highly driveable roads that are great fun but dont have quite as good mix in my opinion, but certainly if I was ever going to have a little local road rally these would be some of the roads I'd include. Apparently you just have to watch out for the odd little clod of earth that passengers sometimes consider to be bricks/rocks/concerning !!!
There ya go, Im very very lucky where I am and ought to get out for drives more often, although these days i drive so much that I often cant be ahsed !!
