I reckon if a few hours cleaning our cars would yeild the same results we would be as anal - I just seem to find more stone chips or rust!.

M3s are certainly getting cheaper now for an old E36 model they are on pistonheads from 3k upwards, these are high mileage (120k plus). Will BM engines last much longer ? Or do they have to be rebuilt ?

The units seem to be tough (I do hope I'm not talking this up) and the buyers guides all point to buying one on condition and history, not on the mileage or age alone.

I do know that the way these should be treated is exactly as per any other high performance car. Regular fluid swaps, warm up and cool down and rag the arse off it whenever possible and appropriate :)

Very nice wash and wax there!

Re the engines lasting, our 328i has 113500 miles now with the last 3000 containing nearly 1000 rather hard track miles. No grumbles in the engine dept so far, touch wood.
