Very cool and different but i see a problem.
I reckon at anything over 30/40mph the skin will start to flap and ripple like Jeremy Clarkson's face in an Ariel Atom at full chat!! Too much give!!
I do however know of a similar material that changes structure and stiffens right up when different voltages are applied. It can go as stiff as carbon fibre of fibre-glass and will revert back to it's natural state when the voltage is changed or turned off.
They use similar materials today in semiconductor and related manufacturing companies. That i would like to see!!
