I was at Brands a couple of weeks ago on a VXR driving day. There was a Ring edition VXR being driven by an ex BTCC driver giving hot laps.
It ran constantly from 9am till 1pm, then 2pm till 5pm. Off the limiter at every change and never missed a beat all day.
It was road spec running road rubber and was driven to Brands and had been used the day before for exactly the same thing.
It made me realise just how much stick those things can take, and even the professional driver was impressed by how much fun it was.

It didn't persuade me to a buy a new Vauxhall, but certainly opened my eyes to the whole VXR range spending 2 hours just driving the complete range (Corsa, Merive, Astra, Zafira, Vectra and the VXR80), and I'd deffo consider one 2nd hand when my wifes chops her VW GTi.

You knew my opinion @ Silverstone and after driving Garys Astra 480 miles in one day, I find myself very impressed with the car.......what the hell must a far more powerful, better prepped car feel like 8)

They appear to be great value........go for it.

There was a rear, bike engined Mini at the Abindgon sprint today. Very impressive :)
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!

No pics from me I'm afraid but there was a photographer there so they'll get posted up somewhere in a few days. Watch the Abingdon thread in JISC.
