A big BIG Thank you to Stu,

Post by Bladerider »

As some of you may or may not be aware,

There have been several things that I have wanted to get done with the drift car. Unfortunately time hasnt been on our side with either no cashflow, too much work, people letting us down or whatever else you can think of conspring against us to prevent the car actually progressing. Add to that the gearbox dying a week before round 1, me subsequently hitting a mobile chicane/R33 at Donny, frying the clutch 2 weekend ago at Knockhill and its all been a bit frustrating so far this year !!!!

Things havent changed in the frustration department (more of that in a min) but what has changed a huge amount is the look of my car. I'll post up some pics when I get a chance - car was literally only finished today at 12.30 which was 30 minutes late for getting to Silverstone from Colchester :o :o ready for EDC qualifying against 2006 World Champion Mr Kumakubo and teamate Tanaka from Team Orange.

The only reason its made it at all is thanks to the Big Fella and his willingness to ignore some of his owns troubles at the mo (working for me is the least of his problems - yes its THAT bad !! :( :D ), set aside the testicle crushing dissappointment that is his new BMW M3 project/test-of-will/soon-to-be-firelighter and spend a day of his holiday and all this week prepping, modding and fettling the Orange with its new bodywork and paint. He's also helped make sure the car was ready for todays fresh round of problems and heartache (I'll get to this eventually !!) been my sounding board for my new stupid ideas, and a shoulder to cry on about work and its particular issues which must be doubly annoying as he had probably had the little ray of light that at least he wasnt on site with me over the last few days disasters and sleep depravation syndrome - suffice to say life in the Aerial World has been less than wonderful for me just recently !!

So a huge THANKYOU from me, and a big IM SORRY that alas the benefit of the widearch kit allowing us to run wider rubber has bust my gearbox after only 3 practice runs :( :( and despite my efforts in 4th gear I didnt make the cut, or even the whole course.

Oh and you could say that its now a bit ORANGE !!!

Cheers mate,

A humbling post to read. Thanks for the recognition James :)

It's been fun working on the car and it will continue to be, I'm sure. Loads of potential from yesterdays testing and a bit more funding combined with lots more planning and practice should see the UK's team Orange (the original one ;) ) competing for honours right at the top.

See !!

There was me being all sincere and full of manly love for his dedication and fruityness, and you force me to now snigger and point at the cruelty bestowed upon him by mother nature :D :D :D

The thing Im most scared of these days is the fact that theres another one of these throwbacks running around with handcuffs :D :D

Bladey! I think you must be something of a one off yourself, if only in literary terms. :D
