advice on what car to buy

Post by kev@tga »

As above since i sold my scooby and the nissian turning into a track car (has not seen a track for a while lol) i really miss having something to have a play in i have narrowed it down and cant choose between the golf r32 4 motion and the astra vxr (both will be 2008) i like the idea of the 3.2 litre engine and the 4wd of the r32 but i have always had vauxhulls (sp) (all my vans are vauxhulls have have not skipped a beat plus i used to have an 2003 astra gsi turbo) but i have always have turbo charged engines and like the way they drive there is not much between then in power and torgue but the r32 weighs around 300kg more i know thats not going to matter as its a road car but i am looking ahead :-D any advice would be welcomed thanks kev

Something you arent gonna get bored with !!!!!!!!

Suppose it depends on how much you have to spend.
Non turbo wise th e 350z is a nice car, cheap 2ndhand. Loads of torque.
Am a big fan of Hondas also, the Civic and Integra Type R's are nice.
What about an older M3 ?
Evo obviously ?

I had a go in a BMW 335 the other day, 3 ltr sequential turbo, pretty good, not as good as the M3 in the bends though. I'm sure you could mod it though hey Kev

I'm biased in as much that there is nothing out there to match the build quality and reliability of a Japanese car. My first choice would be an Evo but as my budget wouldn't stretch quite that far I went for a Civic Type R GT after trying out some of the European competion. Ok, no turbo, but the V Tec is a real screamer and economy is quite good. Sticks to the road like the proverbial to a blanket, partly due to upgrade to 19inch wheels. Also the other half can drive it without any problems as she aint never going to exceed 4k rpm!
