6?? Is that out of the ordinary, or do they regularly fail to handle big power outputs?

What's the current opinion on relative strength of the newage 6 speed?

there supposed to be good for 500 plus depending on which kit you choose, theres a few different ones to pick from "straight cut or semi, dog or syncro, standard fork or billet". Straight cut is louder but stronger and semi is almost as quiet as standard but slightly less strong. Syncro is the only real option for a road car, dog is ultra hardcore

Andy
think these are good for 500 (give or take) as well

Having broke 6 uprated gear kits i have gone back to a standard 6 speed due to costs, ie if i break that, its cheaper.

The change from 1st to 2nd is the most brutle one on the car, as that tends to be where the drive train suffers the sudden shock of grip and power. Right up to me breaking the one in the lateral car, i was wheelspining in 2nd gear, so no major resistance on the initial change.

I have now broken the following:

PAR 2nd gear straight cut synchro
PPG 2nd gear straight cut synchro
Modena 2nd gear straight cut dog
PPG 3rd/4th cluster straight cut dog
PPG 1st gear straight cut dog

PPG 2nd gear straight cut synchro (marks car)
