Cheers Trev. I now need to get the car to Nottingham tomorrow for engine out and then, find someone to sort the gearbox rather pronto.

I'm going to fit longer studs. I first fitted them at RAF Marham and realised the seat taper was different to the Impreza OE. The nuts went on by about 4 turns which, with a 1.25mm thread pitch meant 5mm of thread in the nut :o

I've since checked the late STi wheels I usually run and they're only 7 turns so, 8.75mm.

I've hunted the net and spoken with various tuner and wheel suppliers and the opinions vary, 4, 7 and turns has been the opinions. MSA states 1.5 times the stud diameter. Bit OTT but much the safer option and that's what I'll aim at.

Pics of the wheels have been posted by Darkstars on the Marham pics thread.

Thanks Trev. I'll contact the RAC for a quote and there's Area 52s regular guy, the one who recovered Duncan's car from Donny.

Shame about your box Gerry, just when you thought you had everything all sorted for the season!

Good 1/4 mile time tho, and on road rubbar as well. :D

Well done on the time Gerry, shame about the box, i was getting quicker and quicker doing a 10.38 and 10.31 @ 137+ on the trot with 1.8 60ft's, for my next run to have a quicker 60ft but the box to give up the ghost as i selected 2nd.

Was looking forward to physcing Ollie out in the final, but that privilege went to Mikee, who did very well.

I certainly heard of several boxes going:

Marks
Andy Forrest
Mike Latimers
Gerry houghton
Toy: 550+ Subaru Impreza Wagon
Commute: E46 M3 SMG
Tow Car/Wifes: Nissan Pathfinder

Thanks Steven but I don't think I'll ever see the sort of times you have achieved :) I was hoping to say hello but each time I spotted you, you seemed rather engrossed in something or other :)

When the box cried enough, I tried to find you for an 'expert' opinion of what my problem might be but you'd disappeared.

I spoke with Paul @ Zen today and he seems pretty confident it's 'just' a broken selector rod so it's booked into Zen on Friday for repair. :)
