shieet fella - not a silly question - but do you have a high grade bank account .. i.e. a barclays premier .. if so you should have free recovery - just a thought - it took me 12 months to realise that had free recorvery.

Nope, just a bog standard HSBC account, and I'm lucky if they help me with banking let alone anything else!

No probs Dunc, I've had similar problems trying to think of somoene to help! Tried to bribe my Dad with a bottle of whisky to come up on the train to use his AA cover but not even any luck there!

Sorry to hear you've had problems Michael, what happened? IIRC there's a Subaru breakers in Scotland, Glenburgie I think. Not sure where they're located but could be worth a shout?

Just turned on my lights to do my hot lap in the qualifiers, went for fifth and there was nothing there...

Stuck in fourth gear so can't even limp it towards home. Looks like a snapped selector fork so its the labour time to strip and rebuild rather than parts costs to fix it.

Pretty sure you can call the AA, join and then in the same call get them to come to your assistance. The number is 0800 887 766 for breakdown and 0870 5444 444 for enquiries. I would let you know my number, but they will want to see the card :(

Michael has/had RAC but it only covers him for recovery to a garage or similar within a 10 mile radius, which when you're near Knockhill is pretty useless.

I hope you got it sorted mate. Great times for your first visit and I hope another setback doesn't put you off. At least you got your tent back ;)

AWD in Perth may be worth a call for repair.

AWD Motorsport Engineering, Unit 5, Inveralmond Way, Inveralmond Ind. Estate, Perth, PH1 3UQ, Telephone: 01738 633336

They're 27 miles norh of Knockhill

The cost of recovery back from there will be silly unless you can join AA and then get brought home.
Try somewhere like Gerry has suggested. Rather than get the box stripped etc, why nottry to get a second hand box put in to get you home and then repair yours when you get back at your leisure, then when fixed you can sell the temporary one.

Fair enough, my AA will take me where ever I want to go no matter where I am :)
