well i made it back .....got to troubleshooting on the car today with the help of a buddy, found out im getting good fuel flow to the fuel rail, have spark at the coils but a little weak, pulled the plugs and had no sign of fuel getting to the plugs with as much as its been turned over they should have been soaked with fuel i would think, so while turning the car over and listening to the injectors found out they are not working at all.. checked all the fuses in the car but dont know if there are any injector relays? but its still turning over fine and strong just not hitting to start at all....if anybody has any suggestions please let me know....thanks heath

I'd suggest that you may have a failed sensor somewhere. With Subaru, for instance, a faulty cam or crank sensor will cause the ecu to not fire the injectors.

i have a power FC setup, can i do it just the same as you would a reg ecu, disco the battery and give the brakes a few pumps to drain all the juice out or will that mess up the setings on the FC??

I haven't got a clue on yours about ECU reset but i can find out. With Classic Scoobys you have to leave the battery dosconnected a while so the capacitors in the ECU completely drain and i think it takes anything from a few hours to a day, although i'm not entirely sure. Gerry and a few others that have classic scoobs would know about that.

On modern 2001 and on Scoobs you go through the OBDII port and reset it with a cable and laptop or select monitor type tool.

Having read some bits and pieces the most common method of reset is to leave the battery disconnected for 24hrs or disconnect the battery and leave your foot on the brake pedal for a while, but nobody specifies how long.

There is another method whereby 2 pins on the OBD connector somewhere under the dash or steering wheel are shorted out to eachother using a paperclip. I assume this is with the battery still connected. I don't know which two pins though as an image that was supposed to show which two pins wasn't coming up.

The only other thing they spoke about with respect to non-starting was the coil packs. Each spark plug lead has a coil on it, i imagine something similar to scoobs. Apparently they are a bit fragile and can break hence you have a non-starter.

I don;t know if any of this helps but good luck with that one!! :thumb:

Unfortunately, although all that applies to OE ecus, the Apexi PFC is quite different and has no reset as there's no need. The OE reset is to return timing to default settings., the Apexi does not pull timing on knock so nothing to reset.

If you have the Hand Commander to go with the PFC, you can check the sensors by scrolling through the menus. I think it's in ETC iirc. When you get there, with ign on, all sensor readings are displayed, so anything out of spec can be pinpointed.

If you don't have the commander, you'll need to find someone who has the same model car with the Apexi & commander or a Datalogit box to plug in a laptop and interrogate the ecu that way.

Like Francis, I know sweet FA about Skylines.

Fair comment Gerry.....

I'll stick with scoobs and their OEM ECU's as it's unlikely i'll ever get a Skyline. Somehow Scoobs seem a bit simpler...that'll do for me :D

P.S. Gerry...what does HTH mean....i see it lots but never found out what it means :?
