What a top day :-D

Got to the track around 7.30ish, off loaded and grabbed a coffee before briefing. All of us had to be noise tested before we were aloud out on track. Once out on track the going was tough, very slippy around Riches and Sears, but soon a dry line started to appear.

A good mixture of cars had turned up and all evenly matched, with some good old classics being thrown around the track.

Had a bit of an incident whilst i had Ben sitting next to me :o I put it down to oil down on the track, because 4 other cars done the same right after i did.(well thats my excuse!)

Just so happens my brother in law was standing there with his camcorder and took this footage

After lunch a few spits of rain fell but nothing major. A good few battles between myself and Stu, just like the old days when he had the sierra :-D

The Golf performed well, not major problems. Looking forward to the next one now

Well what can i say ,after having spent far too much time in the past week getting the e36 ready when i should of been working and not finishing it until last night
the result was definatly worth while .
we had a thoroughly enjoyable day , richards sourcing parts as we speak so he can get back on track asap, it was nice to go on a track day where it was
made up with mainly saloon cars rather than caterhams etc. the track etiquette was good and the rain stayed away.
stu gave me a pax lap in the golf which was great , i can see the appeal of the one make series, twenty of these racing door handle to door handle would be
great fun , a classic track car straight out of the box .
good to meet a few people from bigpower and have a quick chat ( gary , trevor , ben , james )
thankyou for the comments on my driving stu and yes the gear linkage is top of the list
sorry for the crap write up, also with no pictures . i'll see if the track photographer has any good ones and i'll post them .

cheers

I forgot to thank Steve fo the use of his grass removal tool!

Thanks

Stuart and Steve looked like they had the most fun trading paint(almost) with each other. Am scouring the interweb for a cheapish mk2 now.

This happened within the first 5 minutes of the day. The result of cold tyres and brakes and a wet track

Well guys I had a great first experience of trackdays....by 11.30 my M3 was back on the trailer heading home to Bedfordshire, after a incident with a barrier. Sunday was a very steep learning curve in motor sport not to mention expensive.Howerver I have not been put off.I WILL BE BACK!!!
If any body has any pics or video of the smash please can you send them on.I look forward to many more trackdays.

Have you had time to assess the damage to the M3 yet?
