Lewis Hamilton banned from driving - on French roads.....

Post by ScoobieWRX »

Story.... http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/u ... 068149.ece

Personally i think the French in general have got a grudge against McLaren. I bet the french fuzz new exactly who it was and decided to make an example of Hamilton now that Alonso is going to drive for Renault, so they thought they would stick the boot in!!

A large fine is fair enough and possibly even a night in gaol as has happened to many brits driving in France in the past, but to ban Hamilton for 1 month from French roads is pretty much outrageous, and in my humble opinion shows a hidden agenda by French Fuzz!!

Sorry to say this but it really is bloody typical French and their entent cordial....or is that Encouler!!

Storm in a tea cup Francis. I don't imagine that he, McLaren or anyone else gives two shits. I bet he was quaking in his boots at a fine of that enormity

Still interesting that the Times felt it was so newsworthy.

I have no doubt you're right and yes a fine of that enourmity is not even small pocket change for Hamilton however....i still think he was being made an example of and for the wrong reasons.

The Times is printing even more newsworthy tat these days than it ever has. Clearly it's readers are asking for more trivia, in which case i would recommend they read a high quality publication like the 'Daily Sport'

im interested to hear what a likely punishment would be if he had been convicted of the same offence on the M1 or M25...although reading that, he has to go to court next month to answer properly

Many years ago i too got a ban in sunny france i was on the way back to the ferry and spotted a Citroen Bxgti ( it was along time ago )
parked about 5 miles before the last toll gate at the side of the road with its tailgate up.
only as i got there did i see a camera oups i said as we headed to the toll in shame knowing our game was up !
118 mph in a Toyota Previa all four of us had to chip in for the fine we just had enough and i was baned as well for a month
like Mr H. However we still made the boat .
