Rob,

M-Speed widebody R34GTR was fastest with 54.4sec which is more a showcase that their driver (usually Tanaka I believe) knows the place inside out, they have spent the same sort of time at Tsukuba that BMW have at the nordschleife, and they have gone through most setups you can think of and settled on one that is more GT500 racer than modified roadcar.

I think a generalisation that RC could do 55sec from performance no where near that is possibly a bit of a leap of faith, but Im over the moon for Clive and the guys that they have gone out there, done the business, even let Taniguchi play with it and had no mechanical dramas, which i a nice result considering some of this years trials for them.

I think all the guys deserve a big pat on the back, even the ringer in the Scoob !! :D :D

Very unlikely Dave but I understand that the guys from Clash Productions are likely to do something. Whether that's for the web or DVD I do not know.

So the UK guys where 4 to 5 seconds of the pace which is a huge margin at that level, But the japs did have home advantage I suppose.

You dont get it Rob,

Its like saying the time attack cars went rounds Hocknheim 4 seconds slower than a GT1 class Porsche - its a phenomenal acheivement to be anywhere near it !!!

No I'm afraid I don't mate, These guys are driving 600-900 bhp cars and are supposed to be driving in the type of race they are used to competing in week in week out....

Sorry but I'm not that impressed by the whole time attack series to be honest, These tuners glory boys out on track funded by the ridiculous high fees they charge their customers   .

The biggest thing the UK drivers lacked was seat time and luck. Put any of the Japanese drivers behind the wheel of their cars at somewhere like Brands or Silverstone and I'd expect to see the advantage reversed.

I can only imagine that the 'scene' in Japan being several years ahead means that the money invested in the cars and the projects is considerably higher too.

WITH REFERENCE TO COMMENTS ABOUT TUNERS ETC!!!!!

Let's not even divert this thread any further, eh?

Any and all continued discussions with reference to anything other than the Tsukuba trip can be continued somewhere else. (ie another thread please)
