Ah, but you've done the moderator priviledges thing. Chopped the original thread, re-started and re-named it. [-X

but that was well before gareth's post. (an hour before to be precise)

but anyway for the purposes of clarity :)

I have not got water injection.

The only injection of Meth is me pouring it into the petrol tank by hand :D

I put 1 gallon in for every 9 gallons in the tank (petrol tank that is) therefore running 10% by volume mixed with Tesco 99 at this stage.

Plus will never forget the intake manifold being freezing after a run !!!!

What is your setup Dunk ? How and where is it being injected ?
Injected in a hole behind one of the back doors with a gravity feed I reckon.

Well for new year I plan to fit a WI system, ECU driven, and run Methanol through it at ?%

By your reaction after one day Dunk, I think I had better get reading and doing some calcs to estimate a WI map. I also think an EGT probe with 0-5v output is on the cards.

Group buy in the new year then?

WI is better than this crude method in that it gets around some of the downsides of this stuff being in the tank but it does have drawbacks of its own.

Given the choice and money I think WI is better but this seems to work really nicely for short term fixes / track days :D

im due to get andy.f to map mine next tuesday along with a bigger turbo and a few other bits and bobs, was going to get it mapped for methanol but with the apexi only being able to handle one map i think i will leave the methanol out for now due to winter comming in, pretty pointless going through the bother of constantly topping up and keeping a steady supply of the stuff when im only going to be using the car for daily driving :?

roll on next summer though :-D

I've been using WI for a couple of years. 50/50 deioised water/methanol. It was high egts that decided it's fitting and it cured the problem nicely. I've got the basic system, initiated on boost pressure.
