Anyone use Falken 452's?

Post by mattie170 »

I will start from the begining, couple of months ago I was driving back from brundel to norwich and I had the left rear tyres go and completely split from the tyre wall (pictures to follow later). I took it back to where I go them from and they said the tyre was run flat so that was the reason for it, but I had only checked the tyres that morning. I thought maybe I had got a nail or something in it so I got a new tyre to replace that one.

Last night I was coming back to Norwich from the meet and I heard a massive bang I wasn't sure what it was to start with maybe a stone hit the screen but couldn't see anything carried on for a few hundred yards more when the car start to pull to the left badly. I stopped as soon as it was safe to and was greeted by a fair bit of smoke from my drivers rear tyre as it was completely flat and the tyre wall was screwed. After a bit of messing around as I left my locking wheel nut at home  I got the tyre off and there was a nice hole on the inside edge of the tyre. Now its time to replace all the tyres with something that won't give way :x They all still have loads of tread on too but can't risk it anymore.

I will put pictures up later today when I get home.

If you use Falkens I would change them.

Got them on my Clio V6 and my Saab 95 HOT Aero. I also have the Falken 512's on my work car (a 1.9tdi Laguna estate)

Really great tyres and at a great price - no complaints, but do wear out fast on track days.

I agree with Nik on this one, great for road trips and hauling a BMW 5 to work but def. not a track tyre!

If you have lost confidence in them- stop using them and buy another brand such as Toyo's.

I am 100% happy with Falken tyres, but I guess that would change if they failed on me
