Whilst I'm pleased that the lad got caught, it's hard to see that justice was done. How the guy didn't lose the plot and seek his own 'justice' I'll never know.

at least he got caught - but I think the punishment should fit the crime totally - I think he needs to stump up the money for the repair - not the insurance company.

My idea is that if some scrote vandalises a car - there details should be kept on record - then when some 10 - 15 years later they have their own pride a joy - they can watch as someone gives it a kicking so they can feel the pain of their victim :) - an eye for an eye.

I say the car should return the favour and see how he likes it!

Don't agree with the "main thing is he got caught" part. The criminals/youth of today don't care about being caught anymore because they know that there will be little punishment. Not wishing to open a can of worms, just my take on things. I think in the above case and similar future cases. The offending persons details should be kept on the insurance database and when in the future they take out their own insurance policies, they should be charged higher premiums until they have paid off their debt to the original insurance company.

I think the plonka in question is probably the sort of person that will probably never TAX, MOT or Insure a car therefore what does he care anyway. In my honest opinion of british justice, the time/punishment never fits the crime. For what little punishment he got through legal means i think i'd have had more satisfation personally making sure the little scrote never did that again as there is generally only one language these types understand.

Unfortunately for him and us it's unlikely he'll ever learn.
