Won't be too hard to get the pulley yellow passivate zinc plated to offer longer term protection. I would imagine the extremes of temperature that the pulley must experience will expedite the corrosion.

Won't worry too much about the pulley now! Done a bit more last night with Max 1 and Sneaky Pete to see if we could find out how much damage had been done, I will let the pictures tell the story..........................

Sorry about the quality of some of the pictures but you get the idea, the rod looks like it has ripped through the block which is why there was water in the sump. The short block is u/s but the top end seems to be OK not that it makes any difference as the whole lot will be replaced with another engine anyway

:o That looks very nasty indeed, So are you going to replace it with one of those 5lt cammer crate engine's ?, Or is it a warranty job ?, Sorry didn't read the whole thread if I missed something.

I'm speechless. I've felt a bit sorry for myself in the last few days and then I read this.................best of luck buddy. I know I can be of no practical help whatsoever but my thoughts are with you.

Fil, just can't believe after all the time it took to get it as you wanted this happened, good luck with getting the beast back up and running.

:( Mustang's are one of my favourite cars. I am jealous of you for having one but would never wish something of this nature to happen. Hope you get it up amd running soon.

Had a chap turn up from Sutton Coldfield today after advertising the engine on another forum, he bought the engine and supercharger, that will be some penny's towards the new engine :-D

I have sat down with Max 1 and we have been doing a lot of research and want to try and run the mustang on the street with 500 - 600bhp. A nitrous install with a 300 hit of gas means that I could have a quick street car and use the gas on the strip and have the best of both worlds. This has raised a few issues and the main concern is that it could twist the car, so I am getting prices to strengthen the chassis, 9" axle, fit a roll cage and get the rear end tubbed for another possible issue of grip. I have put my wheels up on the for sale section and am looking to replace with something like the following

This won't be a quick project but I only want to get the work done once so I might as well get it as I want it so I'm happy. I know of Webster Race Engineering and Hauser Racing any one know of any other company that would rear end the car?
