Sorry to butt in, but having tried the 'twin blade' CD rack style cannards and having done a couple of days on circuit with them, I think it's very difficult to prove any benefit beyond what you perceive. The front of my car 'felt' more stable on high speed (90mph+) sweepers such as Corum and Riches at Snetterton but then I had just paid a few quid for the bloody things so I guess I was always going to say 'yeah they were great :thumb: '
In honesty, I don't think you can reallistically expect any benefit on a road car with road car spec. As Blacky says, on a more focused trackday/sprint weapon, yeah go for it, as there is a benefit from looking at a comprehensive aero package but for a road car I think the benefits are purely cosmetic.

Darren uses his car, from what I understand, as a road car. If he were to use the car in an environment more likely to induce high speed cornering, very high speed straight line stuff etc then he may find the aerodynamic benefits more obvious/apparent.
I know we all think our cars are something special but in the real world of motorsport, where aerodynamics is a finely honed art form, I suspect that the sorts of things supposed to help may be a little wide of the mark. A lot of this style of modification are as much about the form as they are the function, implied or actual.
In terms of what I meant by "more dedictaed track car" it is simply that. A car where the compromises of design that allow for comfort, driveability and economy are left behind in the pursuit of performance above all else.
The modifications that most of us can afford when combined can dramatically improve the performance of a car, but the likelyhood of something like a cannard or rear spoiler extension making much difference on their own, in my opinion, is pretty small.
As Blacky is a composite design engineer for a well known motorsports team, I would have to leave a definitive answer to him as to their benefit in terms of performance. In terms of looks they've got to be worth 20bhp all day long :thumb:

If you speak to Matt and mention BigPower, he may be able to do you a better price. Worth checking the site and ensuring the templates fit your bumper shape properly.

Think Stu has hit the nail on the head really, I am no aero expert, but I do know that actual aero doesn't do that much until over 100mph.
Also I am sure those canards were not wind tunnel tested on an R32 as then the bits wouldn't just be a couple of hundred pounds
, also, aerodymanics work as a full package, so just boshing bits on the front to in theory create more frontal downforce would in the proper world maybe upset the rear end making the car unbalanced.

Thanks guys for your comments. IAN YOU CAN,T HAVE THEM!!!!
and yes they have been tested at high speed (all on a test track of course  ) More carbon arrives tomorrow, and Stu they give me at least 100bhp mate :-D We had a small local meet at Stevenage leisure park on sunday and no word of a lie I had a group of jap people come over and ask about the car
Also had problems with some chav,s but soon sorted that :shoot:

These canards are not designed for front end downforce, they have been designed by Garage Defend to sweep cool air into the front wheel and in turn cool the front brakes down on high speed circuits.
Did they come with English instructions Darren?
I am sorry but i am already counting the pennys in my piggy bank ready to get these, sorry mate!!
