Donnington Track Day 17/6/07 - Video footage added

Post by pablo »

What an excellant day and even the weather gods smiled on us.
We arrived at Donnigton bright and early at 7am to ensure that we got a pit garare for us and Stuart who we were expecting to arrive around 8am. To our surprise Stuart turned up at 10 past 7 :o
The range of vehicles out there today was amazing, there was even a Ford GT40.

The car behaved fairly well throughout the day we only really needed to put in a couple of cool down laps to control the temperature. Whilst out on track with Stuart we had such a laugh taking it in turn to lead. Ithought we drove our car hard, Stuart was out there on the edge lap after lap. On one lap when Stuart was following me I made a rookie error of paying to much attention to Stuart and not enough on the track infront. A s a result I missed my breaking point coming into Redgate and ran a little wide  Silly me.

Went out for a passenger ride with Stuart and I would have to say with those tyres on his car sticks to the track in the corners, The Kuhmo's taht we now run also gave us a lot more grip although we do use a front splitter and a new rear wing to help with grip.

The rear spoiler use fitted saturday by Alan, and yes you can feel the extra downforce through the fast bends. The rear of car is so much more stable. Through the crainer curves Alan was doing 100 mph :o

Bart reckoned I was really close to that Testarossa when I went passed him.....nowhere near ( I bet he loved being buzzed by two old Sierras) Watching that just makes me want to go back though.
