Ok, where do I start. WOW
Just before lunch today I was beckoned out to the front of the shop and greeted by the site of this

Very much similar to the Elise (to my eyes anyway) it looked every bit as good as I had hoped. There was something more appealing about this one too as it was the prototype mule that they have been doing all of their donkey work in. Quite appropriate as this Donkey was asked if he would like a drive! Now I've tried to get into Elise style things before and frankly struggled but the incentive this time seemed stronger. It was only the heavy traffic that typifies Attleboroughs High Street and the full carbon bodywork that gave me cause for concern. Yeah that's right FULL CARBON as shown by the hoop

The interior was pretty good and very familiar to anyone who has been in an Elise or VX220.

Nice supportive seats and simplistic instrumentation. So simple infact, they didn't work! This one had developed a glitch this morning on a 'test' drive, his words not mine

so I only had the seat of my pants as a vague guide to our speed. The Tesla only uses two gears (high and low) and the car was locked in high gear, once again due to the enthusiastic testing that morning, so effectively the acceleration was not as good as it could have been. Still strong enough to see nothing to around sixty in five seconds flat and no, I'm not kidding. It is so surreal, there is no noise, no drama, just a seemless surge with instant response it appears. The torque figures in a light car just translate as a car that would keep up with mine up to around 60mph. As for handling, well, I had to eat my humble pie. I had started to say that I thought all of the heavy batteries in the back would bugger up the handling when our man grinned at me. It was at that point that I felt a little uneasy. Straightline stuff is a doddle unless I think we're gonna fire someone up the arse but handling 'tests' leave me a little dry in the mouth. I needn't have worried. Not only could the guy drive, but the car could handle. We circled the roundabout with aplomb and disappeared off at one of the exits with a hint of opposite lock and a flourish of wheelspin from the rear. Ding Dong!!
Hang on, I'm forgetting this is all about economy and saving the planet.....or is it? Perhaps this is the compromise, the way forwards. I'm not saying the car will be cheap when it comes out, I have a sneaky suspiscion that it will be circa
