Bumper bar is in the bumper, or should be and the dash was simply cut off after the binnacle and plated off with alloy. The picture above shows the alloy panel, albeit painted black with the ignition cut off switch too.

Done some more stripping today. Removed the rear bumper and removed the dash lower panels, to my horror the wiring looks a nightmare

. The previous owners have put in aftermarket central locking and several stereo options. And they wasnt very tidy and considerate. On looking in the engine bay i found a plastic carrier bag stuffed behind the battery, containing...................... the ECU!!!!!! :roll:
I dont think this has been the best 24v conversion ever elecrical wise, there is loads of spare wires from the new and old engine harnesses just hanging in the engine bay.
Oh well itll keep me busy.

not at all my friend thats just inconsiderate to other drives out on track :lol: :-D

the V6 engine wether it be 2.8,2.9 12v or a 2.9 24v are very torquey and thats great for coming out the bends

Update!
All the interior is now stripped apart from the headlining and the dash. I removed the alarm and central locking wiring, bit of a bugger but sorted now. There is a few less wires to worry about now.

Bit of bad luck the car wont start now. Its bound to be a wiring problem somewhere! Found some burnt wires coming from the ignition barrel and the battery connections are quite shocking. So further invest is required.

A few questions
1. Is it worth removing the headlining?

2. What is the best way to go about removing the wires i dont need?

3. What wires and accessorys should i retain? Indicators, wipers, heated front and rear screen?

4. Should i remove the heater system?

5. Can anyone shed some light on the engine wiring? The original ECU seems to be still wired in and the 24v one is wired in and in a plastic bag behind the battery!

Sorry for all the questions :oops: . I have more but i will leave them for another time.

If anyone needs some Sierra interior bits and bobs, let me know asap before i get rid of all the stuff i have removed.

1. yer get it out anything ya dont need for a M.O.T get rid off it all adds up and before ya know it youv'e saved another 25Kg

2. Well when i have prepaired my bangers , i found with most cars you could take the whole dash out and unplug alot of it from the loom if not and ya sure ya not gonna need it just cut what ya dont need off nice and short and insulate it all

4. I would , just pull the dash out and get rid of it all then just join the water pipes up in the engine bay . This is what i used ot do on my bangers but ya may have to have the heater to get though a M.O.T.

5. Nope not a clue :lol:

Hope that helps its just how i used to get bangers ready , when they were in road spec Seats, dash etc etc they were crap to drive , but with as much removed as possiable , they were awsome to drive 8)

If i were you i would get all the windows out and get some perspex windows Glass is bloody heavy

Is it somthing to do with taking the alarm out :roll:
