Post by maff »

Got my shinny new VEMS Wideband finally set up and installed in the car, thought you guys might be interested in seeing the results:

2nd Gear 20-60 (ish)

Log file of above:

To really understand whats going on youll need the mega log viewer from here to use with the log file:
http://www.ideasandsolutions.biz/MegaLogViewer

Ill get some 2nd/3rd/4th runs, once i find a suitable private test track.

Any comments from those in the kow about fueling etc... would be much apreciated.

Cheers

The top graph RPM
The bottom graph is lambda

It shows how rich the car is running at any point in the rev range, at 4600rpm its at its leanest and by about 5700rpm its got really quite rich, and could be leaned off. (Well probably it could but that depends on EGT, im sure theyre fine though, but i still need to buy an EGT sensor to be sure).

Having discussed it with some of the SXOC lot it seems that fact that my T25 Tubbie is on its way out and wont hold boost high up the rev range (drops from 14psi to about 8psi at about 6000rpm) is the culprit.

T28 time :-D

Do a new graph and do a full pull in 3rd gear say 2000 rpm to red line.

We need a scale as well

Above 1 L is not lean and below 1L is not rich you are in very dangerous teritory

can that logging software output the graph on a numerical scale (eg 11.4:1) rather than its current style?

its much easier to digest it with the ratio numbers. great toy tho, ive always wanted a wideband lambda but never been able to justify it to myself.

Its not difficult to work out

Lambda * fuel stoich= AFR

If you need to be told this calc you are way out of your depth

Ok, ill do just that.

Admittedly the graphs not too easy to read, hense the logfile and viewer, ill see if i can turn on some sort of scale.
And your right of course, that was badly written, i simply ment RichER and LeanER.
