True but we all know what we're letting ourselves in for and the potential risks. Winning a raffle prize surely puts some responsibility on the organiser to ensure the safety of the winner. No point going into possible scenarios but I can imagine a few. e.g. the guy knocks his head during an off. Who's picking up the compensation claim? The organiser, driver, the person who lent the ill fitting crash helmet? There's a litigious culture in this country, thanks to ambulance chasing adverts.Bladerider wrote:Given that when we go ta a trackday we all have to sign in - the passengers as well - that is some form of disclaimer ???

Personally, I'd consider it preferrable for the prize to be the responsibility of an established company e.g. an 'experience day' say a balloon flight, single seater 1/2 day, flying experience, etc. All require a disclaimer but they alo need to carry insurance in the event of 'neglect'
IMO :-D
I attended a Ferrari owners club track day at Brands Hatch and went out in four cars as a passenger. Before we started I had to sign a disclaimer which basically prevent comeback on either the driver, circuit, organisers etc.. But they only allowed drivers who held a racing licence (can't remember the title) and complete a minimum number of trackdays.
Can I suggest you contact Ferraris owners club to see if they will do anything for you, they hold trackdays all over the UK and the owners bring and trash some incredible cars.
