British Gas Rant

Post by Gerry H »

Just had a call from BG.

Salesgirl: Hello this is BG we have some fantastic deals if you switch to us.

Me: What do you call 'fantastic'

Me very sceptical. Her, keeps repeating the word 'fantastic' Cut down version.

SG: We can save you 20% over your current supplier. That's a fantastic saving. How much do you use?

Me: Dunno but it costs me

Well, I just tried to register on Maff's site and it came back with both my numbers are already registered. I do remembering registering via the Watchdog site a few years ago after being peed off at getting faxes at all hours.

I also tried to register a complaint today, via telephone, with the Ombudsman, about BG but they don't work weekends.

Maybe I'll try again on Monday now if it'll get them into deeper trouble :)

When David was a toddler of 2 or 3, I would listen to what the caller had to say, which usually took a few minutes, make some excuse about someone being at the door and hand the phone to David who would gurgle intelligibly at them while I sat back watching TV. Once a suitable time had elapsed, I'd take the phone and say "Sorry, what did you say" :)
