Please don't let it be another 7 months for a passenger ride in that!
Gerry, that is a special car, well done mate!
Dax are built just down the road from me (well, next town) and I often see them zooming around baiting bikes through Epping Forest :D
I'd go on a crash diet to fit there, best dig my trainers out.

Shame the Scoob has gone, but I reckon your new purchase will be less heartache, it's just a big engine and some bits to keep it on the road.

Very very nice lord H. it looks just the ticket, more dedicated to what you want to do with it than the wagon. :).

Hope you have lot's of fun in it.

Well now the deal is done I'd better do a piece in another section.

The guy who took the Scooby has promised to keep us up to date on how he's getting on with it. A really nice guy. We could have just swapped the Scoob onto his trailer, shook hands and be on his way.

Instead, we chatted for a while, over six hours and he had 160+ mile journey home. A real car nut and he'd be a boon to the site. He even brought pics of the GT40 he'd built a few years ago. :smt060

David and I went for a blatt around the country lanes and villages and it's a real assault on the senses, in the nicest possible way. We came back when the low fuel alarm came up :(

I'm quite knackered after a very full weekend and will post a full report and a few pics.

It's so nice to know that the courage of your convictions and faith in starting again has paid off. I hoped you'd enjoy the Dax; once you have become genuinely familiar with it I'm sure you'll never look back :)

How's that V8? After hearing them in various shapes and sizes around the track today, I am quite jealous. Is it angry sounding or more of a mellifluous tone?

I'll find out on Wednesday I guess.

Trouble was, I was convinced the seller was a genuine guy so really couldn't walk away without a nagging feeling that I was making a mistake.

The V8 sort of barks at you for more. I'll answer your question as soon as I find what mellifluous means.

If Weds promises to be fine, It'll be there.

Any excuse!
