Stu can you even fit in a Suzy SJ? LOLstuart wrote:Man, I can beat all of those!
I had company cars for the first couple of years and then I graduated into the real World....budget motoring! My first privately owned car is something of a character car. A Suzuki SJ410.....oh yeah
That was the car that I owned when Tanya and I met. That was the car that used to ferry me up and down from Essex each weekend when we were courting. That was the car that moved Tan and her stuff down into the little flat we first shared in Chelmer Village. It was also the car the iced up on the inside as well as the outside. It was also the car that I returned to one night to find someone had torn the passenger door off to get the stereo out. It was also the car that needed daily redex to get the thing running. It was the only car to date that needed a new engine during my tenure. All my previous cars were brand new so I never looked at the dash warning lights. I soon learned that the little red genie lamp was infact the oil lamp!! Oops. It was also the only car I've owned that has been wrapped in wallpaper. A spited ex-girlfriend decided that she would decorate the car whilst Tan and I were having a lovely Italian mealOh how we laughed!
I'll regale you with the joys of Citroen Xantia on another occasion.
The Worst car you ever owned?

Tricky one - gotta be me first motor. Fortunately an aged relative carked it not long before my 17th and combined with every penny i'd earnt and saved in anticipation of getting a driving license it meant I could afford to buy, and Insure!!! an 85 C reg red XR3i convertible which i thought would be just the ticket as 17 yr old with an undercut and a pony tail.
After leaving a deposit on the first old woofer to bite my ankles my old man made me see the light so I kissed goodbye to the

Oh yeah just remembered, having bought it, without a licence, I insisted my old man took me out in and that he gave a good caning, at which point the loose stereo wires that i hadn't taped up having tried, and unsurprisingly failed, to fit a new head unit into it touched together/something metal and caught fire. So it smoked inside too - had to stop, open the roof to let the smoke out as couldn't see a thing, and then cut several yards of melted wire out of it before i could get the oldskool (not then tho as it was 16 years ago) pumping with another stezza
