Silent Hill The Movie

Post by Stuart »

I've watched this a while ago and even after deep cognative thought, playing the games for hours, discussion with other viewers I still have this nagging question

WTF was that all about? The games were, in places, complicated enough but the Christopher Gans movie.......it's almost like I hit random on my scene selection. Any pointers?

Saying that though, Resident Evil being a game first etc - did in my opinion make for a very entertaining movie :)

Resi Evil was a great popcorn movie. Agreed.

I'm not saying SH wasn't enjoyable, I just couldn't work out why the cop in the film, and the last main opponent in the game, was being burnt. Also what ever happened to Frank? Who were the church goers...and why did Ifind those mutant nurses fit?!

I normally enjoy game tie ins (much better than games that have a film connection) Christ, I even watched Doom, but SH was just a little too ambiguous. The look of the film was spot on, the music and sound effects. Liked the new 'Janitor' creature and the Pyramid head was class. Not dissing it, just felt cerebrally inadequate to get the best out of it.

I dont think there are any good game films, there are just a load of bad ones and some that are ok.

Alone in the Dark, Super Mario Bros, Mortal Kombat and the most attrocious Street Fighter spring to mind.

Ok ones are Resident Evil and Tomb Raider.

Saying that Final Fantasy was pretty good.

Hoping the Splinter Cell film should be a hit !!!

Watched Silent Hill last night - you are right - WTF !!! ...

I think being cooked on a ladder over a nice roaring fire would upset most people !!! ...

A really quite disgusting and disturbingly odd movie !!>
