polishing scratches out of plastic?

Post by alexb »

Hmm, wasn't sure for the right place for the post so I stuck it in here :)

Does anyone know the best way to polish light scratches out of plastic? I'm thinking there must be stuff similar to that uesed to treat car bodywork.

It's for my Apple iBook, which I'm selling but want to tidy the lid up a bit first.

Any advice appreciated :D

Cheers,
Alex

alex - got some perfect stuff for you

of the ones that are there... the icleaner is the most abrasive (ie if the scratches are medium depth) but the ibook cleaning kit would be fine for mild swirling

hth

gimme a shout on pricing :)

Cheers! I knew I'd seen something like that, it was mentioned in the context of cleaning a PSP screen I think. Looks perfect!

Some of the scratches aren't too bad, just from being in a rucksack and something rubbing against it, but I reckon I'll go for the iCleaner kit to make sure.

I'll PM you :)

Cheers,
Alex

Nothing wrong with a bit of detailing on the IPod, I have some plastic polish and sealant which works a treat on mine, though need to find a smaller machine polisher to get into the corners :P

Guy I used to work with ordered some cleaning stuff off eBay, turned out to be t-cut, which he was a bit annoyed about - but it worked a treat!
