well the old golf was collected today and now have a wedge of cash burning a hole so my little brain is in overtime

i want to get back out there sprinting again next year and a bit of b road blasting when not in the audi quattro so the obvious choice is another jap box
originally i thought evo 5/6 as they can be had for 5-6k with coilovers and a few treats so good to go but i dont know a great deal about them, the other choice is another impreza, easy to work on cheapish parts
iv seen this jdm bugeye sti in white, strong 6 speed box etc etc but being so standard will need suspension mods and other stuff (nice though)

cheap evo 5 that probably needs the ayc pump but looks like it could be nice and tidy and has everything to take it out racing

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mitsubishi-Ev ... 1c466312a8

or buy and old classic impreza sti or ra

or something like this (bit more than i wanted to pay)

or do what i planned to do once the golf was sold and build a lwb quattro sport
like this although this can be built long term in tha garage anyway but the funds now would push it on

Would sprinting the quatro once its built make sense? Because if so... best of both worlds.

it would not be in road going class and in a sports libre class where you need a nat a licence hence the reason i didnt sprint the golf

IMHO buy a car to match Mike B's and go sprinting. With any spare dosh put that into the Quattro and enjoy a build at your pace and to your standards.

You get to go sprinting with Mike as and when you like, as well as perving over/building/dreaming about your ideal spec Quattro. Win-win,

Very true stu
I was looking at evo5 and 6 for around the 5.5-6.5 mark with some cash to play with but after speaking to Gary the dreaded rear diff on the evo's has put me off so now looking at decent imprezas for about 3kish and repairing them is no major drama
A classic sti with decent suspension and brakes is a right hoot
Looking forward to them banzai runs again

Whats wrong with the rear diff out of interest ?

Imprezas and bits for them are plentiful now so you can't go wrong with one :)
