I just stopped by my old dears place on a flying visit and enquired as to what everybody was up to as the house seemed to be deserted, I was then told that my little brother is at this very moment down at Silverstone Circuit on an all expenses paid 'job' running his mates burger van.
The jammy bastard!!!
I've always wanted to go and watch the British GP but have never had the opportunity and that little shit (who incidentally can't stand F1) not only gets a free pass, accommodation and scoff but gets paid a tidy wedge for the privilege.
I'd happily go and flip some £8 a pop burgers if it got me a free pass.....git!

Ha

Having spent a small fortune on an F1 day there a few years ago I hate to say that the prospect of going, the anticipation of the event and the noise (oh, the noise) may potentially overshadow the actual thing. I remember thinking that I could have gone to Spa (or most other venues) including travelling, expenses and entry for less than Silverstone and experienced everything else with it!
Agree 100% that it's a travesty that someone who won't appreciate it is going & getting paid by the way. It's often the way I find

I haven't spoken to him since he went, not because I've got the hump or anything daft like that I just haven't had the chance to catch up
Out of interest I wouldn't mind knowing how he got on (burger wise) as I dare say that's a huge money spinner over the course of the entire weekend
Knowing him he'll probably rub it in by telling me how bored he was and how noisy the F1 cars were.....I get what you're saying about the cost though.
My mate Chris is currently doing security work over in Abu Dhabi, he sent me an email a while back saying that a few of the lads are heading over for the GP in November and that accommodation and wheels in country would all be covered. I would of course absolutely love it but the cost of flights alone I dare say would be ridiculously expensive and would be very hard to justify to the family who are making do with a short break at Centre Parcs this year (unless of course I managed to hop on an international freight flight transporting goats and chickens etc.)
