What the feck is wrong with some people. All this fuss over something that he may or maynot have said a year ago. If people have got nothing better to do with there time than to analise recordings to find shit then they need to get a life.

The people that have started this witch hunt are the ones who need to be investigate.......

Fact...when I watched that episode and he came out with that rhyme In my head that word came up. Does that make me a racist......No, it makes me old.

The word in question is offensive, but, only when used in certain context. If you think it or half say it when saying a rhyme thats inappropiate not racists theres a big difference.

Example

I'm outside my house talking to a mate when i turn and run back to my house. At this point my mate shouts 'Run monkey boy run', does that make him a racist...........

NO....It makes him a Lee Evans fan......

Someone overhearing this could get the wrong idea but they would need to look at all the evidence before opening their ill informed mouths.

A black bag is a black bag.....
A black board is a black board.....

If that offends people then it's those people who have the problem....

Agree totally Pabs- I bet we all said "that" version of the rhyme as kids without any malice or knowledge of what the word was in certain context, and most probably still do say it if they're honest.

What's more frustrating for Clarkson is that he didn't actually say the word, he just mumbled something similar which some prat has decided was intentionally racist (and he has even said that at the time of hearing it back in the editing, he realised it could be mistaken for "nigger", and asked another take to be used).

It's just someone at the Daily Mirror with an axe to grind against him, knowing that there's people in the PC brigade who will jump on the "I'm offended" bandwagon to get attention.

I think some people in life will try to use the racist card to screw others over.

True story:

A mate of mine was passed up for a promotion two years running and was refused a posting due to a 'racial assault' on one of his blokes.

The background to the story goes like this.....My mate (Scottish) introduces a new bloke (Fijian) to the rest of the guys in the troop and he is subsequently invited out on the lash. Later on that evening the new guy gets absolutely wasted and starts a fight with some random guy. My mate stepped in to break up the fight and as a result has to avoid a haymaker from the inebriated new guy.
My mate put him on his ass and then proceeded to bundle him into a taxi to take him back home, the new guy is put to bed in order to sleep it off and that is that. Next morning my mate is called in to see the big boss and is subsequently charged with 'racial assault', the new guy didn't press any charges this is on the basis of a single paragraph written in a log book at the front gate.

A few years later having been passed up for promotion he thinks "Fook this I'm going elsewhere" only to be told that his application for a new posting has been rejected on the grounds of his previous 'racial assault'.

Several months later he got a different posting via the back door and took himself, his black wife and their child down to his new posting in Devon which just so happened to be closer to his Chinese mother.

If that wasn't a true storey it would be laughable. Just shows the mentality of people in this PC crazed world.

Feckinh self righteous do gooders should be put against a wall and shot.....

Taff Jones, Paddy Mahone, Jock McSplot, Brummie Bryant, Scouse Taylor, Pompey Lewis....I don't see the difference other than the fact that certain words throughout history have been associated with years of oppression and have been tagged as a means of racial insult.

As a Welsh man bored and bred I would have had no problems with being called "Taff", however "Pez you knob" seemed to work better for most....

In the words of Tom Hardy "You is what you is"

When I saw this I thought it was a recent thing he had said but well if its just people trawling through old material to try and find some dirt have they got nothing better to do.

I mean fuck if the world only knew half the shit that goes on in certain professions they would have a field day. Some things are just better not explored and don't need any media snooping around. Never met anyone in the media that I've liked or wanted to speak to they are just always on the hunt for a story to run.

Witch hunt by chance?

Quote:

Media regulator Ofcom is investigating whether a recent episode of Top Gear, which included a controversial joke about Asian people, broke its rules.

Host Jeremy Clarkson used a derogatory term during the Burma Special, which was broadcast on BBC Two in March.

The show's producer later apologised, but Ofcom is now looking into whether it breached its "content standards".

The news comes after Clarkson was criticised for mumbling a racist word during an outtake from another episode.

The Ofcom investigation relates to a special programme in which the show's hosts built a bridge over the River Kwai, on the border of Myanmar (also known as Burma) and Thailand.

Surveying the structure as a local man walked across it, Clarkson remarked: "That is a proud moment. But there's a slope on it."

Co-star Richard Hammond replied: "You're right. It's definitely higher on that side."

'Institutionally racist'

Equal Justice, a law firm specialising in discrimination cases, accused Clarkson of "clear gross misconduct" and said his comments made the BBC appear "institutionally racist".

After receiving complaints, Top Gear producer Andy Wilman said it was "a light-hearted wordplay joke referencing both the build quality of the bridge and the local Asian man who was crossing it".

He continued: "We were not aware at the time, and it has subsequently been brought to our attention, that the word 'slope' is considered by some to be offensive and although it might not be widely recognised in the UK, we appreciate that it can be considered offensive to some here and overseas, for example in Australia and the USA.

"If we had known that at the time we would not have broadcast the word in this context and regret any offence caused."

If Ofcom decides its code has been breached "seriously, deliberately, repeatedly, or recklessly", it can impose sanctions ranging from the broadcast of a correction or statement to a fine of up to £250,000.

The Ofcom investigation comes a week after the BBC faced calls to fire Clarkson after he mumbled an offensive part of the nursery rhyme Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe in a clip that was not broadcast.

The star said the corporation told him he would be sacked if he makes "one more offensive remark, anywhere, at any time".

Equal Justice, a law firm specialising in discrimination cases, accused Clarkson of "clear gross misconduct" and said his comments made the BBC appear "institutionally racist".

That ^^^^ just about sums it up.....yet another UK based law firm hovering like the fucking vultures that they are trying to make a quick buck from trumped up liable cases

exactly the same as the scum bag UK law firms that are currently prowling Iraq and Afghan advising AQ and TBN on how they can sue for compensation after the stinking flip flops were shot in the ass' having been caught red handed digging in IED's

or the £900,000 pay outs to dodgy Iraqi coppers who (justifiably as far as I'm concerned) got a slap for passing information to insurgents
