:( :(

Seems like there is less and less activity each time I log on to see what's going on or being discussed.

Not like the heady days of a few years ago. :(

As Stu said ages back "the forum is what people make it" I personally think that it's also the sign of the times, people move on because circumstances say so. I'm not on here much recently due to redundancy stuff, but if things go to plan. I'll be more chatty on here with a project. :smash: :D

It is quiet. Track season has all but ended and the weather is getting colder (plus we're all getting older). So cars are being tucked away for the winter.

The main difference on this forum is that we don't tend to engage in general and sometimes pointless chit chat. We don't have threads that go on for 15 pages about the 'misses is sleeping with the milkman, what should i do'.

The thing that i do miss and felt helped the forum was meeting other members. But as we tend to use our cars it's hard to find a date and venue that suits. Then add in costs, back in 2008 in cost me

I actually think it's more forum's are the victims of social media, how many mediums do you really need?

Sure it has been pretty quiet of late but I'm sure it'll pick up soon enough

I think we need an MLR Winter Sprint Series- would help stop the usual post-series bitching on the MLR, and give us something to post on here. Lol :D

Also as Dan says less people are doing stuff, so less to post about - I was watching through the videos and came to the conclusion that bigpower really is about the stuff we did as opposed to the stuff we talked about ... banter was always pre event, post event

Stu has organised alot of events however turnouts have been down, at the start a post for a trackday would be bombarded where in later times you worry that there simply wouldn't be enough to do it.

Also, before all of the redevelopment at snetterton we had all the lovely space for sprints, autotest etc ... so it was easy to have an event .... now, where?

So the forum, this forum, has been a victim of the economy i.e. less trackdays, less track toys, the lack of interest in events resulting in less events, all very cyclical.

When we get together it's just like old times, just hard to get together!

I agree with all the comments, its a real shame but Bigpower isn't the only forum to suffer this. Put simply there isn't the people out there with the disposable income they could justify spending on car related bits that there was 3-4 years ago. We like other forums used to have multiple build threads where spending thousands was commonplace. Now apart from a few hardy people this doesn't happen which is a sad.

Also yep as Ben says its hard going through the agro of organising an event where 20 people say yes but when it comes to getting the money this halves.

I think instead of focussing on the track side of things like track days and auto tests, we should also look to more social kind of activities like drives out to places, the go karting or even other stuff like paint balling and things to help get the forum back to the friendly social banter place it was. Also people can bring partners, girlfriends, kids etc to some of these events which too seems to be a big reason why people can't go to things :)

Myself I wouldn't mind going to Beaulieu or Brooklands or the Goodwood Classic event, an idea may be to drive down and stay the night- have some food and then go to the place the next day and drive back.

But then I was never 'track focussed' and used to just enjoy the friendly socials and watching the track events more.

Gareth some good thoughts and ideas there....I would happily do the go somewhere driving trip not so much interested in just going for a drive.....but to go visit somewhere and have a social element is just the ticket.....
