The time is nearly here where my daughter will be starting to get behind the wheel . The days of what car you would like to drive when passing your test are but distant memories it is now a case of what you can afford to insure . I am aware of various add on's along side the test ,motorway and night driving courses black boxes etc. ( a 6" steel spike in the middle of the steering wheel is a good deterent imo lol) .

I have heard of the classic beetle being very reasonable to insure , so am looking to see what these are like but any input over the next few months with other options would be much appreciated . Thankyou

Saxo, 106 or ka are some of the cheapest to insure. Buy a crapper for the first year and do pass plus to getting the no claims boosted.

Lol, good beetles are valuable or rusty.

Engine and car size seems to matter less now then when I was 17... When a cousin was looking a while back, he found a Volvo estate came out as cheap as anything. Weird.

Classics are cheap, but the classic car insurers like footman James and Lancaster like you to be over 21.

When you do put the quotes on for your daughter, put your wife on as the second driver. That brings the premium down a fair bit........serious !!
