Another day on the farm

With all of this nonsense with cars, I often find myself forgetting other important aspects of my life in the country. Tan and I have wanted to expand upon our clan for a while so with our usual caution, we got on with it

Say hello to the boys!

Other than eating a fair amount of food and making loads of noise, they serve no real purpose. (A bit like the Impreza)
Here are our six new born chicks

Last up, the bacon monsters

These fatties have already trashed about 150sq ft of garden and that's in one afternoon

They weigh in at 140kgs between them and will taste lovely in my belly
Oh yeah, a little guest appearance too.

Yeah, that is a cat. In a chicken coop. With the chicken, or in this instance a Bantam, outside and totally relaxed in each others company.

Mad, but I wouldn't want it any other way

Bacon, eggs, chicken, spare ribs, sausages..............the list is endless

We got 85kgs of meat off of each pig last time and these guys are much bigger than their predecessors at the same age.

Hayward.......the closest you get to wildlife is on your estate

Jon.........we won't be naming the pigs. I made that mistake with my first one (anyone remember Nismo?) taught it to roll over and come to heel. Then it became lame and I had to put it down. Never again........just called 'pigs' now and that does me just fine. The only thing about the cat and the chickens being in there together is when the cat catches a rabbit and eats it in the coop. Not a nice thing to walk into when you are collecting eggs

We can't easily have goats or sheep as we are surrounded by farmers fields (tough life) and the buggers would escape. As it is, we have had to use triple electric wire fencing to keep the pigs in and the dogs out!
