Had a car stood for around 5 years not started, would there be any big no no's or tips with trying to get is started? If I can get is started i'll start a new project thread!

I would drop the oil out and stick some fresh in, at the very least let it build up some oil pressue so it gets some oil into the head before firing depending what it is whip of the cam pully and squirt some oil over the cams pull of the HT lead and turn over for a bit.

its a TT supra, is the oil change just so new oil runs though the engine? or the old oil wouldn't be any good? cheers

Generally I'd be inclined to use the original oil for the 1st start up assuming it isn't total black sludge,

allow the engine to warm up gently, letting the old oil get around the system and collect contamination that will have built up on the working surfaces over time - then turn off, change the oil and filter and all should be all clean and shiny again - before 1st starting up I'd also be inclined to use Lee's suggestion and lube the cams just to be on the safe side though

I would crank it over by hand first just to get it all moving. The fuel may also be next to useless after that length of time, I would be inclined to lob in some additive with some new fuel

thanks guys
Eddie sorted two tyre valves out for me so it now can roll about, it had the alloy valve caps on, they'd become part of the valve and snapped off.
