i have it but its been umplugged for ages now , its alright for a free thing
pro's: it cost nothing for the usual freeview channels and very handy to record pause and rewind live tv , the on demand is alright aswell
cons: to bloody many wires ,since i put my tv on the wall i'v not bothered with it as i just watch feeview anyway

I have it and use it all the time, I think its brilliant, best investment I have made in years when it comes to home tv.

Surely depends whether you already have a PVR mate ?
If you have Sky or a Freeview recorder then it isnt in my opinion.

Sky are doing unbeatable deals at the moment. You'd be daft to look elsewhere...I should know......I did

I was with Sky for two years, the price tripled within that time.
I've signed up with BT as they've done me a cracking deal, fingers crossed I won't regret it. (free for 3 months, free new BT line, free hub and phone, ported number, two extra packs, phone use , hd, broadband, free phone

Rob, Your BT deal sounds OK compared to even Sky. I've been wondering myself for a while about BT Vision and how it works out. I've been a cable customer since 1995. I changed for a couple of years to SKY and that was OK for a while but if ever the weather was really bad or we got too much snow we would lose the picture altogether until the snow had thawed or heavy rain stopped. You don't get that with cable and i imagine BT Vision too.

Suffice to say i have 3 sky boxes all on freeview now one of which is an HD box, and i get both phones, 20Meg broadband and freeview cable from Virgin. There is so much shite i never ever watch included on a lot of the paid for packages that had just a few channels i did enjoy watching that i gave up altogether to go freeview.

We've both decided here not to pay for extra channels until providers start offering a channel packge with only channels that i specifically choose to watch. I know it will happen eventually one day because ultimately of customer pressure. Providers already have the tech to do it but they choose not to because it's more profitable for them to bundle crap channels together with just a few worth watching in which case a lot of people get the lot because that's the only way they get to see all channels they like. No wonder so many people have gone freeview.

You would think providers would start giving customers the option to pay for an individual custom package as they must be desperate for business, specially during such lean times.

The BT one can be pared right down, so that you have basic freeview and usual broadband and phone package. I also got fed up with the weather effects on coverage, so would nt rush back down that route.
We looked at our bills recently, and asked why we were paying so much for TV and phone use, when it should cost next to nothing.
I'm sure if we'd been more ruthless we could get it for less, but it seems a reasonable deal and at least it's all with a UK based supplier.
Time will tell.
