Post by Rnash2002 »

Well took the leap and got one today, got a few games aswell, impressed with it at the moment, but have another question.
Is it possible to transfer a complete 360 game from pc to xbox hard drive?? i see you can have playable demo's stored on there.

:-k would this per chance be for copied games ?!!!!?

Dont let Big stu hear you say this.

Lol though I dont think it is possible as when you connect your 360 to the pc through the media link it streams stuff off your pc eg films, music etc and doesnt copy them.

I think to be honest its a fairly basic thing that Microsoft would have build in some protection against.

If you want to play 'back up' games. You have to chip or mod the dvd drive so that it can play 'normal' dvd disks with the game iso on.

Guys, if you want to discuss this sort of thing, go for it.

I should add that I am an official dealer for all of the major gaming manufacturers and obliged to grass you up :wave2: Subtlety is the key chaps.

We're discussing nothing illegal.

It's pretty tricky to actually burn an iso and get it to work. I gave up doing that with the xbox, plus you could never play on live with 'backup' games

hmmm, That site is about downloading games which is illegal.

They are also huge files and would take about a week to download. It also says you have to flash your 360 which if it goes wrong you end up with an xbox which doesn't work. It can be done but it is a hasstle.

Movies work differant to games, an xbox sees movies as movies copied or not. Games have something physically on the disk rather than just having information stored on the disk. If the game isn't on an xbox disk the xbox wont play it, this is where the dvd drive moding comes into it to fool the xbox into thinking the backup disk is a genuine one. Oh, and it only works on certain 360s. Microsoft cottened onto this and changed it, I think.
