New arrival in the kennels

Maybe not what you're expecting from the title - Frankly came as rather a sursprise to us as well, she was very late going down this year so we were not expecting any results - usually the eggs are infertile.
Sarah happened to spot something last night one of the 2 x eggs was pipping (and squeaking) - today the little beggar desided to have a wander - very very rare at less than 24 hours old
we usually don't get to see them until they are about a week old - so I appologise in advance for the poor picture quality.

A Hawk is a bird of prey mate, it's an Owl.
Looks like a long eared owl (thats the name before you lot think I am taking the mick and stating the obvious!!).
Well done on the breeding there, took me a while to actually see the newborn though lol
The sight of an owl in flight is incredible....plus they are soo quiet, not like the fat, wood pigeons clap clap clap clap in flight !!!!
Used to see Owls all the time when I was at uni on field trips.
And before anyone says it....NO I AM NOT A TWITCHER !!!!
In the second pic the owl doesnt look impressed you are taking pics lol

Lol I did write just bird. Then changed it to bird of prey...stupid....I meant a bird as in falcon !!
Penguins can slide around on there fronts.....just like you on the toboggan !!!!!! :P

Mum (Holly) is a Canadian Great Horned Owl (as is the comparatively delicate Dad(Wally))

Well it's been 3 weeks now and this is the stage when mum gets a tad knackered feeding the little blighters 24 / 7 and gets out of the box for a rest.
We usually put on the crash helmets (along with various bits of body armour) in about a week from now, in order to take them out, so that they are at least partially hand reared and tame(ish).
Apologies for the poor quality piccies here but they are 10' back from the door in a dark corner, I will do some proper shots over the weekend.
