The games are indeed region free but Ben is also correct to a point. If you were to buy Japanese games some of them aren't English language.

Russ, by all means by an import console but please, please make sure you get a warranty with it. I know they are reliable and I know you may save yourself a few quid but that will all bite you in the arse if it goes wrong. Forewarned is fore amed :)

Films/BluRay DVD's are region coded so you will only be able to watch films that are region zero. (ie Jap import)

Certain games will be OK, some will be as inpenetrable as a medievil virgins chastity belt. You may be better off sticking to UK games mate unless you insist on playing weird Japanese only RPG titles.

Call me stupid but what is the point of having all the games in japanese just to save a few quid on the initial lump of the console ?
I cant see you enjoying them as much !!

Check also into the power supply because that may be different.

I would either fork out the extra now or wait till the price drops (which it will do looking at Sonys track record !!).

Or...get a 360 ready for Forza 2 in june :thumb:
