Soo... I thought there might be an expert on here somewhere...

Just got an iPod 80gb with the intention of cramming it with music and maybe some films, would like to be able to connect it to the stereo in the Supra. However, the stereo is a bit pants and may consider upgrading if thats the easiest and best way to do it to get the best sound.

Anyone got experience in this area?

If you are going to be changing the headunit sooner rather than later get one that takes input from iPod - should even show the track info on the head unit too.

There are loads of head units that do this.

I've seen numerous cassette adapters and fm tuners for iPod, are they not so good?

Was thinking of going down the head unit route, but maybe in a week or two, is there a cheap option to be getting on with?

FM transmitters are generally a little hissy
Cassette Adaptors work okay but the sound is a little on the thin side if you know what I mean.

I wouldnt bother with a make shift solution to be honest... the cheapest of those is going to be a few quid and a new head unit isnt much more in comparison.

I've always fancied a Kenwood DDX 7025 and I see they do a Kenwood adaptor to plug iPod into a Kenwood head unit, would this include video do you know?

Or would I be better just going for a straightforward head unit with built in ipod socket?

Sorry, I'm no good when it comes to head units and such like... they've never made the scoob go faster

I prefer the Kenwood units myself and have my eyes on one of those when sufficient funds are available that havent got a performance home to go to aswell

Any headunit with an Audio in phono will accept an IPOD as it will play it on its AUX channel. A good quality Phono - headphone plug adapter available from somewhere like Currys will then only cost you a further
