I've been invited down to London next week for a meeting with Sony, and one of the very few privately owned businesses to have the privilige. The meeting is to unveil and demonstrate key features of the PS3 and the way it interacts with other blue tooth products. They will not confirm or deny a launch in March, but with software already made and demonstrations of this nature, perhaps the launch is closer than we suspected.
Very interesting all the same~ I have posted this here as I have received quite a few PM's and emails about the release. As soon as I have anything concrete, I'll let you know.

Short term, not a chance. Longer term, you never can tell.
PS3's strengths are their higher power, genuine HD/Blue Ray, full blue tooth and wireless support and Sonys proven track record of out selling every other console. With great games and a good quality online experience coupled with seemless integration with cameras, phones and PSP's, they could do very well indeed. The online gaming, in my opinion, is their biggest challenge by far.
Xbox 360 is already on it's second 'wave' of software, much cheaper (although they are not like for like consoles) and with their fine range of games and superb online experience hold the current 'king of console' title with ease. If the rumours are true about a version 2 360 with genuine HD capabilities, it could work two ways. They may alienate a lot of early adopters like you and I, as we'll have the one that is 'old hat', they may find a way of placating existing owners the way the did the original Xbox owners back in the day................
Early days. Hand on heart I can't see Sony cocking it up, but Microsoft have a wonderful head start and they will fight like hell to hold on to it. Whatever happens, we as consumers will all benefit with improved quality and choice.
Oh yeah, if anyone asks me for a discount on a PS3 you will be given a short and polite answer

I think you should

- the 360 is blinding.
Anyway buy both !! - consoles or so cheap now that you may as well buy them all.
Going to get a Wii in the next few weeks and will get the PS3 once the proper version of GT is out.

Any chance you can take guests along Stu ?!!!?
Just joking.
Will be interested to hear your thoughts, I havent read anything about the PS3 yet thats made me want to get one over the 360.
In a few years you should be able to buy a Blu-Ray or Hd DVD player for a fraction of the cost of a ps3.
But be interested to hear your thoughts after you see one in action.
