Looks like I was not 'meant' to play tonight.

First off I found my Gold membership expired.

Yep it was a good evening, well the times I played.

A few personal views if we do another, remembering that I like to race as well as have banter.

leave tcs, stm and abs on, if you want to drive without them that's your choice, being forced to drive in a way someone else does normally does not help with enjoyment.

leave collisions off and damage off, no point in having these off if you have many different levels of ability (it was almost a case of get through the crash and you were ok, get caught in it or them and you may as well go back to the lobby, not much fun from driving round 5 laps having damage and being slow)

If you ask for tsc, stm and abs to be turned off don't start complaining when you get hit.

Great night boys, I wish we could figure out why there are so many connection problems.

I'm with Virgin (formally NTL) and have no connection problems, however my machine crashes alot - usually when you finish a race and it does that bit where it uploads you times etc.

I'm wondering if the ISP is common for you guys who have the issues.

Yeh, Gary you're right mate - keep all the toys on for next time - and the next time you ram me Jamie - you're a dead man, saying that, so is Stuart and so Russ ... infact everyone rammed me at some point!!.

I managed to get on later in the evening once a few of you had dropped out of the lobby, are you sure you set it to 8 people ?!!!!!?

Once in I had a great laugh though. Apart from my first race where Kev and Ian instead of going forward as soon as the lights went green went sideways into me !!!!!!!

Unlike you bunch of lightweights I play the game without any of the driving aids on, it's a much better game when you do. It teaches you to think a lot about driving in that you cant pile into a corner braking hard with the car not straight then accelerate hard almost straight away and let the aids sort everything out for you.

I would highly recommend practicing without them, you'll find yourself a lot better.

I'll lay down a challenge here, if anyone has a best lap of a track using the aids......I feel confident enough to say I can equal or beat it using the same car (with the same modifications) but not using any driving aids !!!!

To be honest I have been in games with the crash and damage off and I dont find it much fun at all. There isnt the amount of realism that you get with these options on, if I wanted to play 'best lap time' then I would play Colin Mcrae Dirt (also a brilliant game....if you think Forza is hard....wait till you play that !!!).

However there are people of differing abilities....what I mean is those that fire you up the arse at the first corner......mentioning no names here but you know who you are !!!! And for that reason you'll see that I pull over as soon as the race starts to let everyone burn past and then can just wave as I go past the first corner pile up.

Good fun drifting with Ian and Stu and Ben at the end though !!!!!! This looks like an aspect of the game to have some fun with.

Sorry i didn't make it last night.

A mate popped round and one beer lead to lots and by the time he left i was beyond playing.

I'm up for the next one for sure.

I agree with leaving the aids on because not everyone is an expert and most just want to enjoy them selves.
