I keep thinking I need a modern car for non skyline days - but I still love my MKII golf too much, and can't justify three cars when we don't use the two we have now.

Saying that though - an S2000 or 350Z is calling my name.

especially as it's a MKII 1.8 16V ... 3 door .... it was my dream car when I was 18 .... always wanted one.

But I would still like a nice airconned motorway muncher.

my golf - not to steal your thread too much.

admittedly it hasn't been this clean for a while - but i'll be booking young gary for a spruce up.

i think you made the right decision Matt in turning back - been in a situation where i have got too far into one of these before and flooded out getting all excited about driving through a big puddle only for the big puddle to turn in to very deep puddle and that turning into a waterfall and then a raging torrent :o

yes Ben that's a mint golf you have mate! you just got to keep it.

Yes Duncan, it's surprising how shallow some puddles look until it's to late :o

was on holiday in the cav a year or so ago, we came down a 1 in 4 hill, at the bottom was a ford, (no not an escort!) that looks about 2-3 inches deep..............

Halfway in to the crossing things became worrying as the water started to lap up the bonnet!! :o but i had to keep going or get washed away lol.

The old Cav didn't miss a beat thankfuly (god knows how!) when out the other side i stopped and got out, all the water was pooring out from the cills and every where.

Your car is a minter ben, especially with the original bbs's on aswell.

To do anything to a classic like that would feel wrong, if you got a 350 you would think "this is no where near as quick as the gtr". From there on if you didnt tune it/modify it you would sell it. But an s2000 on the other hand could be very fun(coupe only though!!)
