Well i work on the railways, building them, so I get to 'play' with all the cool machines rather than trains themselves, other than engineering trains. My dad collects trains and is about to have an extension built to house his collection.
Can't wait for my kids to be old enough to get back into it, its just Brio at the moment, but that is still good when the layout fills the living room.

I see you've still got the Crocodile Dundee knife! What part does it play in building a train layout? :smilielol5:

@warboys, do you work for network rail then? some my family also work on the railway and thats were ill be going once i get to old to work in the leisure industry.

micared i was using it to prise the old track and boards apart its a multi tool for everything mate:rofl: and its also for that stu said.

yesterday started on the second board.
first off made a new frame for the board to sit on and screewed it together
Image

then layed down the gravel sheet and put track on including making up the shunting yard

i have cut off the excess and taped it down and last night started pinning the track down
and this is a long process making sure its all straight and connected tight.
ill put some more pics up later.

Good skills Bart.

Pablo, if you see him heading towards the TA car with gravel effect fabric, hide the keys!

I dunno, doing the dashboard in that brickwork stuff would look quite different ;)

Good update Bart.
