Ipod controlling Head Units
blacky wrote:Any others recommended, after something cheap and cheerful for the drives to a from Sprints in the Evo.
Thanks to the recommendations here I bought an Alpine unit on ebay.
It's years since I fitted a radio and was amazed at how simple it now is. I had visions of tracing and joining wires for speakers, live, earth, etc but it's all done with standard plugs, on the radio and in the car loom, or at least that's what I found with the Evo. Literally a couple of minutes to pull out the wiring hanging behind the vacant radio slot, plug together the appropriate connectors, switch on and that was it. Even found the operating instructions on the Alpine website. Ipod connector means the ipod sits in the glovebox and is controlled from the head unit.
One small problem though, some git has nicked the two front door speakers and all there is are the two tweeters. Rear speakers are very good and with a full compliment have the makings of a pretty good noise box.
Thanks for the advice chaps

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
