lol, it has it's moments ... it's the falls that come from nowhere that really hurt - i.e you are merrily turning then hit a great patch of ice ... bang, down you go!.

I'm well into the skiing! As you know, I worked a season 07-08 as a ski guide which was awesome. Only been once this season - may try and get a quick trip away late season, but need to check the funds!

Yep, into my boading. went to Val D'Isre last year, Canada 3 times, Lake Tahoe, USA, and france many times, although i'm getting a bit fragile now, as a bad landing can mean ages off work, so have to be careful.

Hence why I still wear wrist guards, knee pads, armoured shorts and a helmet!. I find you ache like a bugger for the first 4 days then it's all fine :)

I discovered skiiing then snowboarding in my mid teens (and waterskiiing when I was 6!), which is part of the reason why at 31 I'm having back surgery next week.

But hopefully I'll be back on the slopes (and lakes) next season :)

Not snowboarding but it's in the same area, I quite fancy heading out to the Alps in 2011 and taking part in this

I just need to practise my downhilling skills which is a little tricky given where we live!

Hardcore!.

Tried out Snowzone on monday - 4 hours of boarding, I must admit I expected it to be pony but was rather pleased to find it was superb! .. very much like riding real snow.

Would certainly recommend it for learning there as opposed to a dry slope.

Snowzone is in the Xscape centre in milton keynes.

How much was it Ben? When I went snowboarding i didn't enjoy it that much. I keep wondering that I'm missing something.

Can you see that link? We went snowkiting just south of Norwich a couple of months ago. It was pretty easy but it hurt a lot more than water does when you fell over!

I'm a boarder. Went to Morzine this year, very icy and a couple of cracked ribs as a result :-(
